Section

A Section is a container or layout row used in dashboards, analyses, and the Overview to group related visual elements (blocks) under a common filter or theme.

It helps users organize complex information logically—such as grouping charts by asset class, manager group, or risk level—within a single view.

Where Sections Appear

  • Dashboard Module: Users create custom sections with specific instrument filters and choose which blocks to display. Each dashboard can contain multiple sections, each with up to six blocks.

  • Analysis Module: Predefined sections are based on the instrument type (portfolio, index, or composite) and contain fixed sets of blocks.

  • Overview Module: Sections show high-level summaries (e.g., top alerts, weather distribution, or favorite dashboards) and can be reordered.

Key Features

  • Filterable: In dashboards, each section can have its own filter (subset of the global dashboard filter).

  • Independent Views: Sections allow users to examine different segments (e.g., mid-risk vs. high-risk portfolios) side-by-side in a single interface.

  • Structured Display: Improve readability by visually separating analyses by theme or objective.

Use Cases

  • Comparing different manager groups or risk bands in one dashboard.

  • Structuring a compliance review: one section for alerts, one for underperformers.

  • Displaying distinct views for each investment theme in an analysis (e.g., performance, flows, weather).
